Saffron Desi, Leeds

This local chain of tasty, trendy and highly tempting Indian eateries, combining great food with great style.  This isn't really the type of curry that you go for after a heavy day in the pub!

Having just opened their third restaurant in Leeds (on North Street), Saffron Desi offers food for people who like their Indian cuisine.

That said, not every dish is killer spicy! For the more sensitive tongue, try 'Saffron Delight' and 'Saffron Korma' for something more mild but still interesting.

Winner or the 'Best Restaurant' category in the 2008 Galaxy Nightlife Awards, 23 Bar & Restaurant combines a chic environment with contemporary gastro food.

Set on two floors, diners overlook the bar below... which means it isn't far to go when you've finished your meal!

Classic British dishes are given a modern twist, like chicken kiev with Dauphinoise potato or oven roast lamb shank with minted gravy.

The friendly staff help create an informal and relaxed atmosphere well worth sampling.

The Lounge Cafe Bar, Hull 

Princes Avenue continues as a great trendy area, just outside of Hull's city centre.  And the street side cafes and bars provide a great place for some summer dining.

The LCB has heated outside areas to allow dining al fresco... as well as comfortable sofas inside (where music doesn't require you to shout your conversation!)

The reasonably priced food comes with good portions and there is also a nice selection of wines.
